a small collection of answers before I fall off the face of the earth again

((I might come back later to talk books, but knowing me, “later” could be “tonight” or “in three weeks”))

@annoyingclandestine @l-eventa @stilldolldemon @conundrum-josten

First one got a little long, so the rest are under the cut.

@annoyingclandestine Hello lovie! Thank you for taking a chance on my books! I’m really glad you’ve enjoyed them. :D

The rest of your answer is a little long, and is not entirely directed at you <3 It is a question that has come up before, so let me attempt to clarify my stance on translations.

It is immensely flattering that people want the books translated, and it means so much to me that people want to share the Fox books with their friends, and I know having the books limited to a single language makes things a bit difficult on that front.

But: I am not in a position to pursue translations, nor am I comfortable with unofficial translations. I’ve said before that I have nothing against fan translations, but that was said as part of a larger conversation: namely, that I do not think fan translations are in any way inferior to professional translations.

When the time comes, I want the translations to be official. In short, I want to pay someone for the time and energy it takes to translate three books from one language to another, I want to tweak the books as necessary to reflect the enormous effort the translator’s put into it, and I want to release the books into their new markets. That hasn’t changed; that won’t change.

But life is expensive and my first priority is making ends meet, so I keep putting it off out of necessity. That doesn’t mean I’ve given up hope. When I’m finally in a position to do something about it, you all will be the first to know. Until then, I can only ask for patience and understanding. <3

A year ends, a year begins.

Happy New Year, I keep trying to say, but every time I write it, I just backspace it away one letter at a time. Happy New Year tastes like an oxymoron, because I do not expect 2017 to bring us a happier, kinder world. Humanity grows colder, and bolder and louder in its coldness.

But I do wish happiness for all of you. We are not candles; we cannot be snuffed out so easily. We are stars, and the darker it is, the brighter we shine shine shine. So let’s shine where it matters most for us: for our friends and our families and our dreams. For each other. For ourselves.

So here’s to all of us. We’ve got this. <3

@korakos I finished All for the Game just yesterday and it was by far the best series I’ve read this year!! Thank you for bringing these amazing characters to life!

Do you plan on writing any other books, Exy-related or not? :)

Oh, and I thought I saw a rumor about AftG coming to Netflix… is that true? :)) #reallyhopeful

Thank you so much for taking a chance on the books!! I’m really glad you enjoyed them <3

Oh yes, am fumbling my way through a couple other books right now. No more sports yet, just magic and nonsense. Added another one to the pile yesterday because why not. ((The anxiety of having a decent follow-up project makes it hard to focus on just one at a time, haha…..))

Er, that’s definitely just a rumor, albeit a lovely one. ((I would probably literally die if Netflix ever contacted me. Let me live a little longer.))

I started a post before I got distracted by my dash. Have forgotten everything I was going to say – was probably just going to complain that I deleted a character from Elysium, made it 50K words into the rewrite, and realized I need to start over and put him back in. But I at least managed to patch together these brief answers before my brain short-circuited, so:

@ohdontdoit said: Nora!! This is totally off topic but I can’t find any other way to reach you. I just finished reading the whole series and it’s the best decision i’ve made in weeks!!! I’d like to know where I can find Jean’s story with the Trojans??

Heya! Thanks so much for taking a chance on the books! :D :D Uhh best (unhelpful) answer is: in the tag! There is no official story for Jean with the Trojans. I very very briefly considered attempting it, but at this point it’d be a mistake if I put my hands all over it.

@annileigh said: Wait, do you work at Starbucks? SO DO I. (or, if you don’t, I still do)

HELLO PARTNER yes, yes I do. Is that not one of the most accurate videos you’ve ever seen, omfg. Probably second most common interaction after “I have a tall Americano on the bar.” “What is it?” “A tall Americano.” “I’m Sue.” “Did you.. order a tall Americano?” “Yes. Is that what this is?” Get out.

(((Also the whole “Is this my drink?” Ma'am, there is no psychic link between baristas so I know what you ordered, I am just here to make drinks. If you hear your drink and your name, it is a safe bet that it is in fact yours.)))

Guys, TFC is number 8 on the Fandometrics 2016 chart, meaning it was the 8th most active fandom this year.

Let me repeat.

All for the Game is the only series on this list not to be repped by a major publishing house, be a bestseller, or in the case of most of these, both. AftG is the nobody series by a self published author that managed to become more popular this year than Throne of Glass, Pride and Prejudice, Dan and Phil, and Rick Riordan and Cassandra Clare TWICE.

Well done, guys.

@korakos how does it feel to be the author of the 8th most active book fandom on tumblr

aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA????

you guys are amazing

Okay so I’m not sure when but the foxhole court has disappeared from my iBooks and it’s not in the store anymore? Is this happening to anyone else? @korakos

the problem was caused by an issue with smashwords (which is the major provider). until smashwords sorts itself out, the first ebook won’t be available exception made on amazon, where it has a tag price on it like the other two books.
BUT nora has already worked around the problem thanks to ais’ help, who’s hosting a page on her website to provide the first book in smashwords’ stead. the link is HERE

Thanks, Etra :D :D <3

THIS IS AN ACTUAL QUOTE FROM STEVE BANNON. HIS ROLE MODELS ARE DICK CHENEY AND DARTH VADER. AND SATAN.

@theladyvalkyrieskyeart since you asked: x <– where the quote is from.

Politico article about it: x

what a fake geek boy, honestly

Satan is conceptualized differently from one Abrahamic religion to another, but in all of them he really has no independed power of his own.

And of course Darth Vader was eventually conquered by love and and light.

…Does this mean SB will eventually throw Drumpf down a reactor shaft before fatally succumbing to his own injuries?

Holy fuck. The number of headlines I keep seeing that belong on The Onion but aren’t…

HOW IN LOVE WITH HAMILTON WOULD KEVIN DAY BE???

iliveforyouilongforyoularry:

on a scale of 1 to Michelle Obama

(does @korakos have an answer??)

CONFESSION: Things I know about Hamilton:

1. It’s groundbreaking and hella popular

2. ?? ????

That’s about it, because I’m determined to watch it when it comes to the west coast next year and don’t wanna know all the details before I actually experience it. So on this one I’ll let ya’ll be the judge and trust your vote. <3

(( I do really like the scale you used, though XD ))
