Helloo Nora, there's a scene in The Foxhole Court where Kevin and Neil are in the changing room at Kathy's and Kevin tells Neil “When you know what someone wants, it's easy to manipulate them. Case in point." what is Kevin trying to convey about Andrew? Or, you know, the foreshadowing behind it? thanks so much!!

A

Heya! tbh Kevin didn’t mean much by it, he was just answering Neil’s question. Neil wanted to know how Kevin got Andrew on his side, and Kevin was saying “I have something he wants, so I bought his protection with it. Likewise, I have something you want, so you’ll do what I want you to do, too.”

This conversation:

Neil opened his eyes and turned his head to look at Kevin. “Right. I almost forgot about your guard dog. How did you win him over, anyway?”

“When you know what someone wants, it’s easy to manipulate them. Case in point,” Kevin said, gesturing from Neil to the room they were standing in.

“I was under the impression Andrew wants nothing.”

actually got picked up and finished in The Raven King:

“Kevin, what does he want?” Neil asked.

Realizing Kevin had no way of following his train of thought, he gestured in Andrew’s direction. “Andrew doesn’t know who I am, but he knows I have a price on my head. Despite that, he said he’d protect me for a year. Not for my sake, but because he thought training me would distract you from the Ravens’ threats.”

Neil looked back at Kevin and said, “What does he want that he’ll risk so much to keep you here?”

“I made him a promise.” Kevin dragged his stare away from Neil’s face to follow Andrew’s progress. “He’s waiting to see if I can keep it.”
