Happy New Year, Nora! Best of luck with your scheduling. It’s smart to designate a day for each of the studies. As someone said to me once, “a Tuesday comes around more often than ‘later.’” :) 日本語もがんばってね!

Here in LA it’s raining, and is supposed to rain for the next three days! Holy shit, this is pretty high levels of excitement. I foresee a lot of tea and cat snuggling.

Speaking of Japanese, where did you live in Japan? Any favorite experiences you’d recommend? Favorite onsen? :D

Happy New Year!

Ha, thanks! It sounded like a good idea in theory, now I just gotta figure out if I have the self-control to stick with it. Man, you want to trade that rain for some of our flurries? JK, just glad to hear SoCal is raining instead of on fire again. ;D Also, what do you mean tea, why tea, tea is an abomination. But def thumbs-up on the cat snuggling.

I spent most of a year in Nagoya, then divided the rest of my time between Fukuoka & Tokyo. I used to think my trip to Kyoto was the best, and I still recommend it to anyone visiting the country, but I think some of my favorite memories are wandering Kichijoji at night and listening to the street musicians play. For some reason it just made everything seem right, made it seem like anyone really could start over and do anything, be anything, live a dream.

Onsen.. none to recommend, never really went to one!

チョウ難しいだろう、日本語。全部忘れちゃってるよ。でも頑張ってます!
