scattered RL updates of a sort:

1. I don’t know why peepholes are so high up on a door. It gets exhausting when you’re stalking the mailman, positive that today’s the day he has the package you’re waiting for, and you have to balance on your tiptoes to keep an eye on his progress. ((alternatively: one could stop being such a creeper, but that is significantly less fun))

2. 71 days left on my lease and then I am finally, finally out of North Carolina. Right now it’s looking like Pennsylvania is the next stop, unless someone in Portland decides they want to hire both me and my sister. ((magic 8 ball says: who you kiddin’ beezy)) I am already living in dread of northern winters but if I do not get out of this state I will go mad.**

3. Continuing the 2014~2015 trend of writing next to nothing. Not sure what closure I still need – maybe letting go of the paperbacks, since they’ve been a half-promised project for so long, or maybe getting out of a city and state I loathe? Some days I’m determined to never write again, to hell with this I say, and I consider wiping my computer to ground zero; some days I’m content to sprawl on the floor for hours and think of the scenes I want to write most.

4. Still haven’t won the lottery. What nonsense is this.

** My level of hatred for life in NC can be summed up by this little story: when I turned 30, I refused to turn 30 in North Carolina, so I literally stuffed my sisters in the car and drove an hour and change north. Made it over the Virginia border before midnight and sat in the welcome center parking lot until the clock struck 12 and it was officially my birthday.
