If you asked me only one thing could make tfc even better than it already is and that is even a slightest insinuation that allison and dan had a thing/hookup/literally anything somewhere along the line….
lbr after 17 years with those kids it is safe to say I have shipped everyone with almost everyone at one point or another ((I wrote entire side stories about Kevin/Matt just because I could)) I am pretty sure in at least six of those universes the girls hooked up in varying combinations
(((but seriously I really want to work on a story that has a wlw relationship front & center, they deserve better than alt-u & background hints. unfortunately neither mono nor ely has one – mono’s MC is ace & ely’s MC is a very fucking bitter divorced woman)))
#WAY BACK WHEN #THE BEST THING ABOUT THE FOXES #WAS THAT I COULD JUSTIFY ANY OF THOSE CRACKSHIPS #TOO MANY YEARS SPENT FINDING COMMON GROUND FOR FANFICS PERHAPS #LET ME TELL YA #SETH*AARON WERE PROBABLY MY CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT
so like A) yes to you talking more about all these crackships
BUT B) AND MOST IMPORTANTLY) HOW IN THE NAME OF ANYTHING EVER DID YOU MANAGE TO JUSTIFY SETH*ARRON?????
B) the easiest response is:: if in any universe you can justify SethxNeil — which is probably harder after I deleted their solo scenes ((my bad)) — you can justify SethxAaron, considering Andrew & Aaron & Neil are basically a venn diagram of each other’s personalities ((spoiler: they overlap at SHITTY FUCKING HUMAN BEINGS)).
slightly more seriously ((but probably no less intelligible bc hey
alcohol)) – Aaron & Seth are a lot alike in their
angry/jaded/bitter approach to the Foxes, where they Belong but Do Not Want This, where they hate being lumped in with the rest of these
supposed failures. If the pack mentality wasn’t so strong & Andrew’s leash so short, those two could probably gripe & bitch & pick fights with everyone else for hours on end.
There’s common ground in their blatant irritation toward their teammates, their unwillingness to cooperate, their drug issues,
their aggression etc etc. For anything more to happen it would of course
require some realigning & reinterpretation of the deeper issues. e.g. rewriting Seth’s outward homophobia & his unstable/intense
attachment to Allison as a result of self-hatred and fear of his own
sexuality, & then dealing with Aaron’s kneejerk homophobia – which
he picked up from his high school teammates
and therefore kindles as a learned behavior more than anything else
