I’m not sure if it’s okay to do this but imma tentatively guess yes since someone else recently asked about Aaron. @korakos there’s a part in The Raven King that has always nagged at me. After Neil hits Riko, Riko says “You just cost him something he didn’t want to lose.” I’ve heard the interpretation that Riko means Proust crossing the line and hurting Andrew, but it hasn’t sat right with me. Because in The Kings Men when Andrew comes back, he asks why Neil went to Evermore, and covers Neil’s mouth when he mentions Proust, and Neil realizes he failed. So if it wasn’t until that moment that Neil realized Proust did the thing, I feel like maybe Riko is talking about something or even someone else here. Is it Andrew or Kevin that are losing something? If it is Andrew, what is it that he didn’t want to lose that Riko knew about?
Hello lovie :D
Sorry it was unclear!! You are right about what they’re referencing, though – Riko says Proust will hurt Andrew if Neil doesn’t come to Evermore, and Neil responds by punching Riko in his fucking face. Riko’s You just cost him was a “You fucked up by refusing me, now it’s going to get awful for Andrew.” Neil assumed that when he said “I understand” and Riko said “Apology accepted” and Neil went to Evermore after all, that Riko would keep his word and Proust would stand down. But in the end Neil did exactly what Riko told him to do–and Proust went after Andrew anyway.
